The ICMG Coordination Commission for the 2013 Games, composed Lino Farrugia Sacco, its President, and of MM. Zekri and Fabbricini and headed, for the occasion, by the President Amar Addadi, visted Volos from 1 until 5 of August.

The ICMG delegates visited certain competition venues and the site of the future Mediterranean Village. They also treated, along with the OCMG President, M. Koletsos, the Managing Director, Fanny Coutrouba and the respective heads of departments, the new provisions proposed within the framework of the « rationalized » budget, mainly affecting the sports program and the competition venues. The issues of accommodation and catering were also addressed, as well as those of transportation, logistics and communication and marketing. Finally, the organization of the ICMG General Assembly scheduled for 2011 was also discussed. It is to be noted that this meeting has a very particular importance, since it will offer the opportunity to commemorate the 60 years of the Mediterranean Games, the 50 years of the ICMG and to select the host city for the 2017 edition.

In order for the ICMG Executive Committee members to be able to express their opinion on these important issues with full knowledge of the facts during their forthcoming meeting on 14 September, the Commission requested from the OCMG to provide promptly a certain number of documents and especially the masterplans of each organization department, the rehabilitation and refurbishment program for the sports venues and the proposition concerning the sports program and the general calendar, revised according to the discussions with the ICMG Commission. Also, the OCMG committed itself to communicate to the ICMG at the end of the month of August the definitive answer on the financing of the construction of the Mediterranean Village.

The next visit of the Commission is scheduled to take place before the end of 2010.
