On September 13-15 were conducted successfully in Volos the meetings of the ICMG Executive Committee and of the Technical, Development & Cooperation and Statutes & Regulations Commissions, as well as joint meeting between the ICMG and the OCMG “VOLOS-LARISSA 2013”. Within the framework of these meetings, the ICMG members visited the sports venues of Volos and Larissa, in order to be informed on the progress of preparations. During the joint meeting ICMG-OCMG, the ICMG members asked various questions, to which the OCMG replied thoroughly, with the promise to speed up all the works.

At the end of the meetings, the President, Mr. Amar Addadi, and the ICMG members expressed their satisfaction for the important work accomplished by the members of the Organizing Committee and, despite the delays noticed in the past and that in certain key-fields have not been overcome, they encouraged everyone involved to keep on applying every effort in order that the 2013 Mediterranean Games in Volos and Larissa are crowned with success.

Nevertheless, the President and the ICMG members restated their concern at the big and still pending problem regarding the confirmation for the financing of the Mediterranean Village construction, which constitutes a firm commitment included in the candidature file and the highest authorities have spoken out in favor of its execution. It is also an important feature for the success of the Games, a driving force for employment and a key element of legacy for the generations to come.
