During the Extraordinary General Assembly of the ICMG which was held on 30th October in Washington DC, in conformity with the principles of the Olympic Movement and in the wake of the resolutions made by the IOC, the EOC and ANOC, the members of the General Assembly accepted Kosovo as the 25th member of the International Committee of the Mediterranean Games. ANOC President Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah, EOC President Patrick Hickey, ANOCA President Intendant General Lassana Palenfo, Pere Miró, Deputy Director General for Relations with the Olympic Movement and Jérôme Poivey, IOC Head of Institutional Relations & Governance participated in the General Assembly as honorary guests. Kosovo Olympic Committee President Besim Hasani expressed his great enthusiasm for joining the ICMG and having the opportunity to participate in the next Mediterranean Games.
